"Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” After he placed his hands on them, he went away." Matthew 19:13-15 NABRE
Due to the pandemic, only first communion classes are being held for 2020-2021. The first communion class meets in the convent on Sundays, 8:15-9:45 a.m. on February 7, 14, 21, and March 7, 14, 21.
This year we are using the Blessed curriculum supplemented by the New Saint Joseph First Communion Catechism along with the NABRE Bible. We are working on learning all the basic Catholic Prayers along with the Ten Commandments and the Seven Sacraments. We were fortunate that the class was able to have their First Confession during the Advent Season. During the next six week session, we will be learning about the different parts of the mass and how to keep growing in our faith after our first communion.
Due to a generous anonymous donation, this year's first communicants were given NABRE Bible. And thanks to that donation, PSR students in the future will also be given Bibles to enhance their studies in the faith.
